Trained and Qualified SPCA Inspectors are available 24 hours a day to attend to emergencies where animals are injured or to give advice relating to veterinary care. This is intended where the owners of animals are unknown or when the services of a private Veterinary Surgeon is not available.

    Advisory Service

The SPCA is always willing and eager to assist the public on matters relating to animals and wherever possible offer advice or help when needed. This will include general information on pet care, sterilisation, legal aspects relating to animals or putting people in contact with specialists when it comes to matters such as wildlife, bees, snakes, etc.

    Education

Caring for and understanding animals forms part of a child’s education as it often results in one of the first responsibilities young people must face, that is caring for their pets. The SPCA believes that a humane towards animals start very young and SPCA Inspectors are more than willing to conduct talks on pet care at local schools to assist where possible in projects relating to animals.
